Durante la scorsa edizione di Open Design Italia tre designer sono stati selezionati dalla giuria internazionale (Adam Somlai-Fischer, Michele Zini, Philippe Nigrò, Dodo Arslan, Elena Santi).  Il secondo premio è andato al prodotto 3deep di Sara Boschello; le abbiamo fatto qualche domanda su Open Design Italia ed autoproduzione. During Open Design Italia 2010 edition, 3 designers were selected as winners of the competition among the 50 participating in the exhibition. The international jury (Adam Somlai-Fischer, Michele Zini, Philippe Nigrò, Dodo Arslan, Elena Santi) assigned the 2nd prize to the product 3deep by Sara Boschello; we asked her a few questions about her Open Design Italia experience and about self-production, in the video above! Vicolopagliacorta è un duo con base a Bologna, che autoproduce arredi e bijoux di design basati su un’idea di recupero di materiali in disuso. Avevo visto i loro prodotti già in occasione di Open Design Italia 2010, e sapendo che parteciperanno ad Open Design Selected il prossimo Novembre a Bologna (Palazzo Maccaferri), ho chiesto loro qualche considerazione su ODI, sull’autoproduzione, e sulla loro attività.

Vicolopagliacorta is a design studio based in Bologna. They independently produce furniture and bijoux objects based on the upcycling of waste materials and the use of local wood. I met them and their products at Open Design Italia 2010, and since they’re going to participate in Open Design Selected too, next November in Bologna, I asked them some considerations about ODI, about self-production and about their own activity. Con l’obiettivo di ragionare sull’importanza e sul ruolo che questa manifestazione può avere, proporremo alcune interviste ad operatori legati al tema ed alla manifestazione. Tra queste, Valentina Croci, che ha partecipato come moderatrice agli eventi off della mostra mercato Opendesignitalia del 2010, le “Conversazioni sul Design”, oltre ad avere contribuito alla definizione dei contenuti editoriali per l’evento. Dindyou sarà media partner per l’evento di quest’anno.
